Who? – Under Armour
What? – A Spanking new range of shoes
Why? –Spieth said so
How? – Three new collections of shoes for all weather. Look like Spieth but don’t play like him…

As the Masters is approaching, brands are going mad with new ranges of clubs, clothes and footwear in the hope we get some inspiration from watching world class golfers knock it about Augusta.

They get me every year.

The Monday morning after, I’m searching the net looking to change my putter, upgrade my quite boring wardrobe of ‘Palm Grove’ gear and do something about the hole in my shoes.

And let’s be honest, who does anything in the first two hours of work on a Monday morning anyway?

Under Armour are no different, and quite right. Their boy Spieth will be watched by every man and their dog as he looks to retain his title for the first time since 2002.

I don’t need to tell you who did it then. Footjoy have been banging out shoes for longer than I’ve been alive and they’re the same every year.

Under Armour though, are looking to change this.

A more traditional shoe for the people that can’t stand wearing golf trainers on the course.

I’m a traditionalist. I loathe some of the trainer style shoes out there as it kind of takes away the etiquette and standards we’ve been brought up on. But that’s just me. And that’s another story. A boring one as well.

The headliner. The Rolls Royce of the collection. If you want a modern shoe with no frills and extreme comfort, take a look at these clogs.

Anti roll support to stop you falling over through your 110mph plus swing

The hybrid is becoming an ever popular shoe within the golfing community, as we edge closer to verging on being cool.

I mean we’re still miles off but now you can wear Air Max’s on the course and not be snarled at by Roger and his boys over on the ninth for wearing trainers.

These are far from trainers though. A breed of contemporary and tradition blended together to create an elegant shoe for the summer months, providing we get any.

What you need to know

Super Responsive Cushioning to ensure unprecedented comfort
Strategically placed rubber pods that grip the surface without digging into your feet
Water Resistant
RRP £120

Under Armour are thinking on their feet (HA). The new range makes Footjoy squeeze their bumholes a little tighter as more competition is added to the market, and good competition at that!

Check these out if you’re like most golfers after the Masters and have been brainwashed to look like Spieth and swing like Daly.
